Chapel Hill got a lift from Kelly Chmiel, who moved in from New York and has been playing No. 1 singles.

Boys golf: Benedictine wins Savanannah title

Benedictine’s Kolbe Kennedy won the Savannah City High School Championship at Bacon Park and helped the Cadets win their fifth straight city title. Kennedy shot a 71 to win by four shots over the Savannah Christian duo of James Wohler and Pat Kistler. Kennedy’s brother Brian won the city championship when he played at Benedictine. BC also got a 77 from Stephen Moore and 78s from Charlie Ferrelle and Devin Murphy. Savannah Christian got a 78 from Kyle Wohler and finished second.

Girls golf: Medalist Ruiz paces Savannah Christian

Medalist Gianna Ruiz shot 44 and Victoria Dalton added a 48 to help Savannah Christian win the Savannah City Championship. Nicolette Weaver of Island shot 46 and Lily Payne of St. Vincent’s shot 47. It was the second straight year Savannah Christian has won the city title.
