Jonesboro will be trying to end a 22-game losing streak against Griffin, when the Bears visit Tara Stadium on Friday. The Cardinals, led by quarterback Zerrick Cooper, a Clemson commit, have been one of the early surprises in Class AAAA. Jonesboro got everyone’s attention with a win at Sandy Creek early in the season and can take another big step as a program by ending the losing streak to Griffin.

Griffin, the 2013 Class AAAA state champion, bounced back from consecutive losses to Burke County and Eastside (Covington) with a win over Hampton last week. QB Tylan Morton has thrown for 961 yards and eight touchdowns for the Bears.

Griffin won last season’s meeting 34-6.

No. 7 Marist at Redan: The host Raiders beat Marist once, back in 1979, but have lose the last five meetings, including 60-0 last season. After getting off to a 2-0 start, Redan dropped back-to-back low-scoring games against Grady and Columbia.
