Lanier and Peach County lost in the first round Friday after 10-0 regular seasons. While it is no consolation, they are certainly not alone. It has happened 135 times since 1948 that a team has gone unbeaten and untied in the regular season, only to lose its first playoff game, according to the Georgia High School Football Historians Association. Here are those that have suffered that fate since 1996, when the state playoffs were expanded to 32 teams in each classification. Teams in parentheses are their opponents.
