Two northwest Georgia schools have selected head football coaches this week.
Muhammad Abdellatif was approved as Armuchee's coach and athletics director on Tuesday at a Floyd County Board of Education meeting, according to the Rome Tribune.
An Armuchee alumnus, Abdellatif had been the defensive coordinator at Region 8-AA champion Washington-Wilkes. He played college football at Shorter in Rome.
Armuchee was 1-9 last season under Preston Cash.
Cass, a Class AAAA school in Cartersville, on Monday promoted defensive coordinator Bobby Hughes, according to The Daily Tribune News of Cartersville. Hughes has been a head coach at Macon County and Howard of Macon.
Hughes will replace Rick Casko, who was hired as head coach at Glades Central in Florida. Cass was 4-6 in 2013.
