Region 6-AA is clobbering the competition in the girls tennis championships.

All four representatives advanced to the quarterfinals, with the winners guaranteed a spot in the semifinals.

Wesleyan won the Region 6-AA championship, followed by Lovett, Pace Academy and Greater Atlanta Christian. Wesleyan will meet Norcross rival GAC in one quarterfinal, with Buckhead rivals Lovett and Pace squaring off in the other match.

Wesleyan (13-1-1) beat Model 5-0 in the second round behind singles victories from Sophia Strickland, Lauren Alexander and Savannah Strickland. The doubles teams of Kaitlin English and Leila Jordan, and Katie McLaughlin and Elizabeth Bruehl also won.

Greater Atlanta Christian (8-6) blanked Coosa 3-0 in Rome. The Spartans swept the three singles matches with wins from Remi Andre, Phoenix Gandy and Rachel Chupp.

Region 6-AA advanced three of its four boys teams: No. 1 Pace Academy, Lovett and GAC. Holy Innocents’, the No. 4 seed, was beaten by quarterfinalist Bremen in the opening round.  Pace Academy plays Bremen, with Lovett and GAC playing in the other quarterfinal match.

Class AAAAAA: The Johns Creek boys eliminated defending state champion Brookwood boys 3-0 in the second round. … The Kennesaw Mountain boys got singles wins from Joe Klokow, Matthew Osajima and Mikey Deatrick in a 5-0 rout of Tift County. … Jessica Cantrell sparked the Hillgrove girls to a 3-0 win over Rockdale County.

Class AAAAA: The Kell girls reached the quarterfinals for the first time with a 3-0 victory over Allatoona. Sam Dearing got the crucial win at No. 1 singles for the Longhorns. …

Class A: Providence Christian eliminated Mount Vernon's girls in the first round. Providence (18-5) got singles wins from Grace Auman and Nicky Wu. … Walker lost only one game in its 3-0 win over Aquinas. Landi White and Sarah Condon got key singles wins. … The Mounta Paran boys reached the quarterfinals for the second straight year by beating First Presbyterian 3-0.
