Next Saturday's Georgia Tech-Notre Dame matchup was considered as one of four or five locations for ESPN's "College GameDay," but the popular pre-game show will set up shop next Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The show sent out a tweet late Saturday night announcing the decision.

No. 2 Alabama will play No. 17 Ole Miss in a night game to be broadcast on ESPN. Both the Crimson Tide and Rebels won Saturday to improve to 2-0. Had the Tech-Notre Dame game been chosen, it would have been the fifth time that ESPN used a game involving the Yellow Jackets as the backdrop for the GameDay show. It also would have given the team extra national exposure.

Tech fans can console themselves with this much. In the previous four times that ESPN set up shop at a Jackets game, Tech lost all four games: Florida State at Tech in 1998 (34-7), Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech in 2005 (51-7), Notre Dame at Tech in 2006 (14-10) and Tech at Clemson in the same season (31-7).
