Denver limped into Atlanta for a Sunday afternoon game. Literally.
The Nuggets will have 10 healthy players. Kenneth Faried gingerly walked down the Philips Arena hallway and informed head coach Brian Shaw that he would not be able to play. Faried has a lower back strain.
"He practiced yesterday and he was fine," Shaw said . "There's not much else I can say on that. I was kind of surprised, myself."
The rest of the Nuggets injury report includes:
JaVale McGee - out with a left lower leg strain
Nate Robinson - out with back contusion
Randy Foye - out with leg strain
Jusuf Nurkic -out, not with team for personal reasons
Shaw said local product J.J. Hickson will start for Faried.
* Here are a couple of interesting facts from the Hawks from the game notes:
- Paul Millsap only player in NBA averaging 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 0.9 blocks.
- Kyle Korver leads league in 3-point percentage (.564). He is only player in NBA shooting at least 50 percent from the field, 50 percent from 3-point range and 90 percent from free-throw line.
* Remember the Hawks travel to the Pacers for a game Monday night. That game will also not be televised. You can hear it on V103 as the Falcons' Monday Night Football game against the Packers will be on 92.9.
