Update: Koetter to interview with the Browns

Jan 21, 2014

MOBILE, Ala. – Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter is slated to interview for the vacant Cleveland Browns head coaching position, the Falcons confirmed and earlier Fox Sports report.

"I don't want to talk about someone else's coaching vacancy," Falcons coach Mike Smith said on Tuesday.

Koetter interviewed for the Boise State head coaching job earlier this offseason.

After the 2012 season, Koetter was contacted by two teams, but decided to withdraw from consideration while the Falcons were making a Super Bowl push.

Koetter has been a head coach at Boise State and Arizona State in the college ranks. He’s been with the Falcons for the past two seasons and was the offensive coordinator the previous five seasons in Jacksonville.
