5 things every Falcons fans needs to know Thursday

FLOWERY BRANCH — Here are the five things you need to know on Thursday about the Falcons (6-7), who play at Jacksonville (5-8) at 1 p.m. Sunday at EverBank Field. The Falcons have dropped six straight and seven of the past eight games.

1. PRACTICE: Falcons coach Dan Quinn will address the media at 12:10 p.m. After an open media session, the Falcons will practice at 1:05 p.m.

2. JULIO JONES SPEAKS: Wide receiver Julio Jones, who hasn't scored a touchdown over the past five games, gives us an update on the offense.

3. FALCONS FAN MAILBAG -- LIVE CHAT TODAY:

4. KYLE SHANAHAN'S TAKE:  Offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan will lay out his full plan onhow he plans to get the offense moving. Quarterback Matt Ryan talked about a "jump-start." You only "jump-start" batteries when they are dead. So, basically Ryan thinks the offense is dead.

5. SERIES RECORD: This will be the sixth regular-season meeting with Jacksonville. The Jaguars hold a 3-2 advantage. The Falcons won the last meeting, 41-14 on Dec. 15, 2011 at the Georgia Dome. The Jaguars won the last meeting in Jacksonville, 13-7, on Sept. 9, 2007.
