Beasley, who was selected with the sixth overall pick in the draft out of Clemson, is set to start in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles at 7:10 p.m. tonight at the Georgia Dome.
Here’s what Beasley had to say:
Q: How good can the defense be this season?
A: I'm just looking forward to what we can be and how we are going to go out there and play. I'm just looking forward to playing at a high level.
Q: How was your exhibition season?
A: I think it went pretty well for me. I was able to see what I could potentially be in this regular season and how I can help this team.
Q: What’s your assessment of the Philadelphia tackles Jason Peters and Lane Johnson?
A: They are highly talented tackles. I think we also have we also have really good players, so it really should be interesting to see the match up.
Q: Are you ready to see Peters, a seven-time Pro Bowler when you line up on his side?
A: Most definitely, going against guys like Jake (Matthews in practice)…..Jake is one of the best tackles in this league. Going against him every day will definitely prepare me to go against Peters.
Q: Will you be nervous playing at the Georgia Dome in front of your family and half of Adairsville?
A: I want to just enjoy the moment. I think it will be a special moment for me and my family. Just being able to go out there and play with the team that I always dream of playing with will be special.
