Antone Smith out for season; Robert Alford out 2 to 4 weeks

FLOWERY BRANCH -- Running back Antone Smith suffered a broken leg and will be out for the rest of the season Falcons coach Mike Smith said on Monday.

Also, cornerback Robert Alford suffered a "wrist injury" and will miss two to four weeks.

"This isn't a long-term injury," Smith said.

FLOWERY BRANCH -- Falcons cornerback Robert Alford suffered a broken wrist against the Panthers on Sunday, according to sourced tweet by the NFL Network.

"#Falcons CB Robert Alford suffered a broken wrist in Sunday’s win over the #Panthers, source says. Brutal reality for promising player," @rapsheet tweeted (Ian Rappaport).

The Falcons would not confirm or deny the report and said head coach Mike Smith would address the injury during his 2:30 p.m. press conference today.

Alford left the game in the first quarter and did not return. He was replaced by Robert McClain.
