It’s a mild morning in metro Atlanta Wednesday, and with plenty of sunshine in store, temperatures will be climbing well above average into the 80s this afternoon.

Morning temperatures are in the 40s and 50s ahead of daybreak. By 11 a.m., it’ll warm up into the 60s and eventually top out at around 83 degrees by late afternoon, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan.

“Basically a cloud-free sky on your Wednesday forecast,” he said. “It’s going to be warm, it’s going to be sunny and it’s going to be dry through the afternoon.”

No rain is in the forecast until Saturday, though a few showers could pop up in some areas Friday night.

The rain expected this weekend is riding in ahead of a cold front that will knock daily highs back down into the 70s for Saturday and stay in the 60s for the next few days.
