The cool, dry weather is expected to stick around into Sunday before the rain and humidity returns.
After a dry front that moved into North Georgia late Friday night continued to move south, metro Atlanta was left with drier air this weekend as the rain settles near the Florida-Georgia state line.
“A cooler start to our Sunday morning. By the time we head into Sunday afternoon, we’re warming it up to about 87 degrees,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said.
Sunday morning will start off in the low to mid-70s and will reach a high of 87 degrees by 4 p.m. Partly cloudy skies with a soft breeze will make for a wonderful day to enjoy the outdoors before the expected isolated thunderstorms Monday.
Cooler and drier air can be seen making its way down the east coast on visible satellite imagery. High temperatures in the 80s, low temperatures in the 60s, and mostly sunny skies are on tap for the weekend! 🌞😎🌤️ #gawx pic.twitter.com/AiA8GKUNrG

But aside from the perfect weather, this weekend is extra special in Atlanta: the BeREGGAE Music & Arts Festival continues Sunday in Piedmont Park. The free, family-friendly event opens back up at 12:30 p.m. and includes musical performances and activities for children.
Latin jazz musician Tito Puente Jr. is scheduled to take the stage at 6:30 p.m., Atlanta native CeeLo Green has an 8 p.m. set time and reggae artist Wayne Wonder will end the festival with a 9 p.m. set.
Moving into next week, temperatures aren’t expected to increase too much, but the humidity is coming back with rain projected for much of the week ahead. The week starts with a 30% chance of rain and by Wednesday we’re seeing a 60% chance of rain and scattered thunderstorms.
