There will be sunshine for most of the day Saturday, but you may catch yourself in the middle of a quick storm.

The morning will start off cloudy with temperatures slightly above average in the low to mid-60s. The humidity will be high and will continue to remain high through the coming week.

By early afternoon, storms will begin moving in. Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Ashley Kramlich said showers will remain isolated and mostly brief.

“It is a hit or miss chance for our Saturday,” she said. “Not all of us are going to see the rain.”

Rain chances will remain low at just about 30%. This means that the start of your weekend will still be enjoyable and you may find bits of clear skies to head outdoors.

“We’re going to salvage a pretty nice day for (Saturday),” Kramlich added.

It’s going to be warm, but not nearly as warm as Mother’s Day on Sunday. Temperatures will reach a high of 86 degrees Saturday, but due to the humidity, it may feel a bit warmer.

Most of the state will be more balmy than usual with temperatures in the mid to high 80s throughout.

Temperatures nearing 90 degrees will settle in Atlanta on Sunday before they start dropping again. Showers are projected in the afternoon on Mother’s Day.

“It is going to get very hot across North Georgia,” Kramlich said.
