Even though fall is already here, we’ll be feeling some summery heat and humidity this weekend.
After a cold front moved into Friday morning, the day finished off in the upper 70s and with a slight breeze. But the semblance of fall isn’t lasting long.
Saturday morning will start off dry and cool at about 56 degrees. According to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Glenn Burns, dry air cools off rapidly during the night, but also warms up rapidly during the day.
“It’s going to feel pretty good, right? After such warm weather,” Burns said regarding the chilly morning.
Temperatures will reach a high of 82 degrees by the afternoon with partly cloudy skies.
“We’re going to have a sunny day tomorrow,” Burns said. “Just a few clouds. Couldn’t rule out a sprinkle, but pretty much we will all stay dry.”

By Sunday, temperatures will be slightly higher, reaching a high of 85 degrees, and the humidity will return. The rain will be limited to isolated showers and should not last long. The forecast is primarily expected to be sunny with a few clouds dotting the sky.
While Hurricane Fiona makes its way toward Atlantic Canada after devastating the Caribbean, Florida has its eyes on a tropical depression. It should stay mostly dry, but the depression developing in the western Caribbean has the potential to bring tropical moisture and rain to Georgia by late next week.
If you’re unsure of what to do this weekend under the sun, the Sweet Auburn Music Fest is back in town for the weekend. The free, two-day festival brings live music performances, art vendors and plenty of food from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The DeKalb County Pumpkin Festival will also continue this weekend and until Oct. 30 at Stone Mountain Park. Apart from the usual park attractions and entertainment during the day, the festival’s nighttime parade, pumpkin light show and glow-in-the-dark minigolf can also be enjoyed by patrons.
