The Atlanta Journal-Constitution announced that Kristi Swartz is returning to the AJC as a freelance climate and environment reporter, where she will collaborate with enterprise reporter Drew Kann on coverage of climate change and its impacts. Swartz was previously a member of the AJC’s Business and Breaking News teams from 2008 to 2014.
Swartz then spent eight years at E&E News, covering the transformation of the Southeast’s power sector. Most recently, she was an investigative reporter at Floodlight News, a nonprofit environment and climate news service.
Swartz’s role at the AJC is funded by a grant from Green South Foundation and Journalism Funding Partners.
Swartz is a University of Maryland graduate and lives in East Atlanta. She will start at the end of September.
