Bad acting and college football rivalries aren’t usually mentioned together. Former Bulldog Chris Burnette made an exception Monday when he tweeted this:
Burnette played guard for the Bulldogs from 2010-’13, starting in 37 games his final three seasons. The Bulldogs went 3-1 against Florida when Burnette was on the team, so perhaps that’s why he can justify standing behind the words of the bad actor appearing in his Tweet.
Georgia leads Florida 50-41-2 in the all-time series, though Florida won last year’s game 38-20 despite a down year in which the Gators appeared in the Birmingham Bowl and saw their coach get fired. “The Wolrd’s Largest Cocktail Party” resumes Oct. 31 in Jacksonville.
The Bulldogs enter the season ranked No. 9 in the preseason coaches poll. Florida – led by first-year coach Jim McElwain – is unranked.
