Not surprisingly, UGA made the top 10 list released by Nigel Warrior on Tuesday.

Warrior is the 4-star safety from Peachtree Ridge High School and the son of former NFL Pro Bowler Dale Carter.

His father’s alma mater, Tennessee, may be the school to beat for Warrior, but things are looking much better for UGA.

The biggest thing in UGA’s favor was this – a month ago, Warrior made his first visit to see the Bulldogs in more than a year.

"UGA is a great place to be," Warrior told the AJC's Jeff Sentell after the June 29 visit.

“I like Georgia. It’s the home-state school. You can’t go wrong with the home-state school. It’s a big school. They’re always in the top 25. You can’t go wrong with Georgia. It’s one of those teams that don’t back down from anybody. They are always giving you a good fight. I like the idea of playing for the in-state school because you get to represent where you are from.”

Who else made Warrior’s top 10? Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon and Tennessee all made the cut. Warrior’s list is not in order.
