On the same day that UGA landed the nation’s top unsigned senior, the Bulldogs also got a commitment from one of the state’s top juniors.

Aaron Dowdell, a 3-star offensive lineman from Creekside High School, committed to UGA on Friday. He is the fifth early commitment for UGA's 2016 recruiting class, which is led by 5-stars Jacob Eason and Ben Cleveland.

"Georgia has always been his favorite school," Creekside coach Olten Downs told the AJC.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder is rated as the state’s No. 35 overall prospect, per the 247sports composite rankings.

Earlier on Friday, Macon County senior linebacker Roquan Smith committed to UGA. He won’t sign a letter of intent but said he’s “100-percent” with the Bulldog and will join the team this summer.
