Expect the holiday warming trend to last into next week.

Forecasts show that temperatures could reach the 70s by Christmas Day.

Metro Atlanta has sunny skies, and highs will reached 65 degrees by 4 p.m., according to Channel 2 Action News.

According to the latest forecast, it could reach 63 degrees on Christmas Eve and 69 on Christmas Day. Some parts of metro Atlanta, especially areas south of I-20, could experience highs in the 70s.

Parts of North Georgia could also see scattered showers Saturday. Skies are expected to be clear in metro Atlanta for the holiday weekend.

Temps are expected to drop into the 40s overnight, according to Channel 2. Friday won’t be as warm as Thursday, but early highs should be in the mid 50s with lows in the 40s.

Expect temperatures in the 60s at the beginning of next week, according the Channel 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns.

Temperatures were 53 degrees in Atlanta, 38 in Blairsville and 44 in Griffin just after 9 p.m.
