Look for a dry day Sunday in and around metro Atlanta,

but it shouldn’t last long.

Sunday has only a 20 percent chance of rain and more moisture is on the way, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said.

“There is some moisture around, and it will be returning to our forecast as we return to our work and school week,” Monahan said.

It won’t really begin to rain in North Georgia until Monday’s 40 percent chance, which doubles to 80 percent Tuesday.

Temperatures will taper off into the mid-80s when the rain comes, but Sunday will remain quite hot. The predicted high is 90 degrees, and humidity will slowly begin to creep up in Georgia as the moisture approaches.

On the bright side, a lot of outdoor activities are taking place Sunday and should benefit from warm temperatures and low amounts of rain.

The Braves finish their four-game home series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at 1:35 p.m. Sunday in SunTrust Park. Cobb County will likely see some extra traffic congestion before and after the game.

At Atlantic Station, the BB&T Atlanta Open Champions Day will take place, so tennis fans should enjoy some nice outdoor conditions.

Starting at 4 p.m., Peachfest will take over FlatironCity in downtown Atlanta and will have tons of food, beer, wine and — of course, peaches — for patrons to try.
