A Category 4 hurricane could bring breezy conditions to metro Atlanta Wednesday, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Hurricane Matthew brought 145 mph winds to Jamaica, caused cruise lines to reroute and is poised to bring dangerous rain and winds to Haiti Tuesday.

“This really is a life-threatening situation,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.

But the hurricane won’t bring any of its threatening effects to metro Atlanta. However, it will however impact cities along the East Coast.

“Atlanta will be breezy, but we’re looking at mainly just the strongest winds along the coast and a little bit inland into Georgia and the Carolinas as well,” Minton said.

In Atlanta, expect low humidity, plenty of sunshine and highs that will remain in the 80s all week.

Temps were 76 degrees in Atlanta, 69 in Blairsville and 77 in Griffin at 11:25 a.m.
