Windy weather cut few breaks for Atlantans who headed outdoors without jackets Friday.

But don’t worry, the metro area is expected be back in the 80s this weekend, according to Channel 2 Action News.

“We stay breezy tomorrow, not quite as windy as yesterday or today,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said Friday.

The weather started warming Friday afternoon ahead of gusty winds that could still bring down trees and tree branches.

Atlanta is under a wind advisory until 8 p.m. Friday, according to Channel 2 . Wind gusts could reach 30 mph before they subside between 8 and 9 p.m.

Temperatures were 71 degrees in Atlanta, 61 degrees in Blairsville and 71 degrees in Griffin, just before 6:30 p.m.

Temperatures Saturday morning are expected to start in the upper 40s in Blairsville and Griffin and the low 50s in Atlanta before hitting highs of 79 degrees in Atlanta, 75 degrees in Blairsville and 80 degrees in Griffin.

And the warming trend won’t stop there.

Atlanta could reach highs in the mid-80s Sunday.

Scattered showers aren’t expected to return until Tuesday, when there is a 30 percent chance of rain.
