A hat trick of airfare deals will get you out west at one-way rates as low as $84. And all three deals are valid on trips completed by Nov. 17. So plan a summer getaway now or one later to take in the change of seasons from summer to autumn.

  • The most affordable offer comes from AirTran and Delta Air Lines with an offer of $84 (98.40 inclusive) each way to either Denver or Phoenix. Trips are permitted seven days a week, based on sale seat availability. Both carriers serve each destination with nonstop flights. As a bonus, Frontier Airlines matches the $84 offer with similar rules to Tucson, Ariz. One flight connection required in Denver.
  • Another offer from Frontier is a $99 one-way rate to Salt Lake City ($120.40 inclusive). Follow the same rules as above.
  • Delta Air Lines offers great deals to ideal vacation destinations such as a $218 round-trip rate to Tucson; $228 Colorado Springs; $278 San Diego and $288 Albuquerque, N.M. To qualify, give at least a 21-day advance notice of travel. Tickets require a Saturday night stay and returns within 30 days of departure. American, Continental and United also match this offer with connecting flight service.  Factor in about $40 for total ticket prices.

Now that was the good news. The not-so-good news is that none of these discount offers have a ticket-by date.

Sale airfares are always subject to change. Every seat on every flight is not offered at the lowest rate. Since only a limited supply of seats is available, act quickly to make your purchase.

I recommend starting the search for available seats at Kayak.com vs. calling an airline directly. You can also search for the sale at travel web sites such as Expedia or Travelocity, etc.  Airlines can discontinue or pull a sale price without notice when the offer does not have a "ticket-by" date or when the offer is deemed "sold out."
