Video of a tour boat encounter with an aggressive hippo has quickly gone viral this week.

The video was shot while on a Pangolin Safari at Chobe National Park in Botswana. The company teaches wildlife photography skills.  Traveller24 reports that Pangolin client photographer/videographer, Craig Clive Jackson of Johannesburg, South Africa captured the scary yet incredible footage.

Michael Varndell, the managing director of Malawian Style Safari and Adventure Holiday, helped the video go viral.  Varndell posted the video on his Facebook page on Tuesday.  Since then, it's been viewed over 279,000 times.

Varndell describes the encounter as "too close for comfort" while commenting he had a similar experience with an angry hippo last year.
