‘All right, all right, all right!’ Matthew McConaughey creates the ultimate Texas retreat
Sitting under the stars with a Bourbon in hand at a luxurious ranch-style retreat in Texas? That’s Matthew McConaughey’s idea of a perfect getaway.
Now, the Oscar-wining actor has teamed up with Longbranch Bourbon and Walden Retreats to offer guests an immersive Bourbon-infused experience at a Texas Hill Country site just a few miles outside of Austin.
“It just makes sense to do something here in my own state,” Matthew McConaughey told PEOPLE.
Stays start March 1, 2023 on the private 96-acre property. With every Longbranch package booked, the company will match the amount and donate those funds to The Trail Conservancy.
“We keep looking for things where we can give some funds to help out the Trail Conservancy and restore the trails that are around Austin,” said McConaughey. “Things that just promote people and are engineered to get people outdoors a little bit more.”
Here’s what one can expect at the luxury retreat:
- A cocktail session with Longbranch specialty cocktails
- An audio-guided hike of Walden Retreat
- Glow-in-the-dark fly-fishing
- Private string performances by classically trained musicians playing a variety of styles.
Getting outdoors is something that the “Failure to Launch” actor keeps dear to his heart, telling PEOPLE that it’s done wonders for his health.
“I know how much that’s done for my own health, mentally, spiritually and physically in my own life. It’s hard to find that time these days in the world, in the lives we live.” said McConaughey
