Congrats to Tucker Brewing and its easy-drinking Tucker Lager for taking home a Gold Medal in the light lager category at the 2021 Great American Beer Festival.

For something decidedly darker, and perfect for fall, the company recently released Tucker Lowlands Schwarzbier. And it’s this week’s Beer Pick.

Profile

Said to be “inspired by the rich history and topography of the Thuringian Forest of middle Germany,” Lowlands Schwarzbier is Tucker Brewing’s take on a traditional German black lager. Head brewmaster Tucker Eagleson balanced dark Carafa malt with Munich malt and Perle hops to create a smooth, opaque beer that’s naturally malty and roasty, with an inviting aroma, and notes of mint, pine and spice.

Try the dark-roasted flavors of Tucker Lowlands Schwarzbier with grilled steaks, burgers, sausages, pastrami or corned beef sandwiches on dark bread, or Mexican mole dishes.
