Flappy Bird is a smartphone app and desktop computer game that suddenly disappeared from the app stores nearly six months ago. Now, the maker of the game has announced Flappy Bird will return to the App Store in August.
The game, created by Vietnamese game designer Dong Nguyen, is a simplistic course of a flying bird through pipes and other obstacles.
Nguyen is said to have suddenly and mysteriously pulled the game from the marketplace, claiming the game had "ruined my simple life," saying the game was "gone forever" in part because it was an "addictive product."

Flappy Bird's extreme popularity has resulted in numerous spin offs, starring Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Doge and London's own Mayor, Boris Johnson.
App stores became inundated with clones and copies of the game in the wake of its removal, causing Apple and Google to reportedly reject apps with 'Flappy' in the title.
At one point in March, around one third of new apps uploaded to Apple's App Store were Flappy Bird clones.
