The Oculus Rift, a $599 virtual reality headset, is an impressive piece of technology, but not something that's within reach of everyone. For one thing, it requires a very powerful Windows PC to run. For another, ordering one online today means you'll be waiting until at least August for your order to arrive.

For those curious about VR who just want to try one out, Best Buy has got your back (and your face): it will begin offering hands-on demos of the technology Saturday at its North Austin location a part of its Intel Experience. Two demos, "Dreamdeck" and "The Climb" will be shown off.

You can sign up for the demos at live.oculus.com. The only other Texas Best Buy stores offering the Oculus demo starting Saturday are in Arlington and Dallas. And if you're looking to buy, Best Buy says it will have a very limited number of headsets for sale as well.
