An Austin-based company is showcasing the Kube cooler — a combination ice chest and sound system that will be available by summer for $1,099 -- at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The Kube is not a computer nor does it connect to the internet. It’s simply a big, 33-quart waterproof ice chest that doubles as a powerful wireless sound system. The system is built to run 20 hours on a charge and can stream music from Bluetooth devices, including cell phones.

A smaller version of the Kube will be released after the initial launch.

The company is taking $99 deposits — or you can pay in full — for pre-orders.
