In honor of the GIF’s 30th anniversary, the social media platform launched the feature for all users this week.

The new button allows people to search and posts GIFs from Giphy or Tenor directly in the comment box. Before, they were only fully supported by its direct messaging app, Messenger.

"We know people love communicating with GIFs on Messenger, and we're also making it easier to use GIFs on Facebook," the company said in a press release.

Although GIFs in the comment box is a new concept for Facebook, its relationship with the moving images is extensive.
