Reed Williams covers metro Atlanta with a focus on how local elected leaders and their institutions impact residents. Before joining the AJC in 2023, Reed was a senior editor at The Baltimore Sun leading its criminal justice team. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Reed worked for 14 years as a reporter and editor at the Richmond Times-Dispatch. He also worked as a reporter at several other newspapers in Virginia.
