The Atlanta Dream has hired Toby Wyman as its chief operating officer, Kathy Betty, owner of the WNBA franchise, said Tuesday.

Wyman was the assistant general manager of business operations for the Gwinnett Braves.

Betty, who bought the Dream late last year, told the AJC that a COO would be her first key hire for the franchise. Betty said she wanted someone with a strong business background and who had sales experience.

Wyman worked for the Braves' Class AAA affiliate from 2001-06 and returned to the team in 2008.
