The icy weather affected many sports events in Atlanta on Wednesday.

However, the women’s soccer game between the United States and Russia still is scheduled to be played at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Georgia Dome. It was originally scheduled to played on Wednesday but was postponed. Those who purchased tickets for the game and cannot attend either because of the weather or because of the one-day postponement can request a refund from the point of purchase. All refunds must be requested no later than Feb. 23.

Georgia Tech’s basketball game against Boston College was postponed from Wednesday to 5 p.m. Thursday. It will be televised regionally on Fox Sports South.

Boston College arrived in Atlanta on Tuesday. But in a statement released to the media, Georgia Tech cited “current weather and road conditions (that) have made it dangerous and unsafe for many essential game operations personnel, game officials and fans” to make it to McCamish Pavilion on Wednesday.

Georgia Tech’s women’s basketball game scheduled for Thursday against Virginia was moved to 7 p.m. Friday. Parking for the women’s game will be available in the McCamish lot and Family Housing lot of off 10th Street for free on first-come, first-serve availability.

A few miles away, Georgia State’s men’s and women’s basketball games against Texas State at the GSU Sports Arena on Thursday were also postponed.

A make-up date hasn’t been announced.

The men’s team has won 14 consecutive games and sits atop the Sun Belt Conference. It is scheduled to play at Troy at 6 p.m. Saturday. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

The women’s team will follow the men at Troy at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Kennesaw State’s men’s basketball game against Northern Kentucky was moved from Thursday to 7 p.m. Friday at the Convocation Center. Saturday’s game against Lipscomb was moved to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Convocation Center.

Additionally, the Owls’ season-opening baseball game against Middle Tennessee on Friday was moved to Saturday, and will be played as a doubleheader starting at noon.

Clark Atlanta’s men’s and women’s basketball home games against Paine have been postponed from Thursday to March 1. The women will start at 3 p.m. and the men at 5 p.m.

Clark Atlanta’s baseball game scheduled for Wednesday at Columbus State was postponed to 4 p.m. Feb. 18.
