During Georgia Southern graduation Saturday, the university awarded former Eagle and Indianapolis Colt Edwin Jackson with a posthumous degree.

In the video shared by the Georgia Southern Football Twitter account, Jackson’s parents, Wesley and Mary, accept the diploma.

Jackson was killed in February after being hit by a suspected drunk driver in Indianapolis.

Jackson was from Atlanta and was an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Southern. Indianapolis signed Jackson to its practice squad in December 2015.

He recorded 47 total tackles and two sacks during the 2016 season, but he did not play in 2017 due to injury.
