SEC Network analyst Marcus Spears said Georgia’s Roquan Smith is the best linebacker that Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield has seen all season.

Smith— the MVP of Georgia’s SEC Championship win over Auburn— recorded 113 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, two deflected passes, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble in his junior season.

“(Smith) is a film room war daddy... He spends a lot of time trying to figure out what offenses are trying to do to him. He’s going up against the best quarterback in college football this year,” Spears said.

Mayfield won the 2017 Heisman Trophy on Saturday among multiple other honors recognizing him as the best college football player of the year.
