As the New England Patriots were welcomed at the White House on Wednesday afternoon, President Donald Trump congratulated the team and a few players individually on the Super Bowl LI victory— including former University of Georgia wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell.

Mitchell ended his rookie year with the Patriots by winning a Super Bowl ring.

"(Mitchell) as a rookie, handled the pressure of the Super Bowl like an (absolute) veteran," Trump said. "Way to go, Malcolm."

Mitchell had six receptions for 70 yards in the Patriots’ 34-28 overtime win over Atlanta Falcons. Mitchell played at Georgia from 2011-2015.
