Rookie Trae Young scored 24 points and had a career-high 15 assists to lead the Hawks to a 123-118 home win over the Miami Heat Saturday night.
Young hit 9 of 19 field goals (2 of 8 on 3-pointers) and had six rebounds, five turnovers and a blocked shot.
Six other Hawks scored in double figures. Taurean Prince and Dewayne Dedmon each had 15.
The Hawks (3-6) ended a four-game losing streak. They play at Charlotte Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Miami’s Josh Richardson scored 32 points, setting a career high for the second time this week, but the Heat lost their third straight game.
Miami trailed by 15 in the third quarter before rallying to a 111-110 lead in the fourth. The game was tied at 118 when Vince Carter's jumper gave the Hawks the lead for good. Carter had 12 points.
Players on each team were quick to launch 3-pointers in the fast-paced game.
The Hawks made 13 of 32 3s, and the Heat connected on 16 of 40.
The Hawks led 74-68 at the break after making 60 percent of their shots from the field. The Hawks shot 52.3 percent for the game.
A 12-0 run, capped by a 3-pointer and pull-up jumper by Young, gave the Hawks their biggest lead at 86-71.
Young dribbled through traffic and made a short floater at the buzzer to give the Hawks a 102-93 lead entering the final period.
Dwyane Wade had 19 points for the Heat.
Hawks rookie forward Omari Spellman had seven points in his first start. Another Hawks rookie, guard Kevin Huerter, had 12 points after spraining his right ankle in Thursday night's loss to Sacramento.
