Like Michael Jordan and now Tim Tebow, could former Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo be the next professional athlete to pursue another professional sport?

Not exactly.

On Saturday, the Dallas Maverick's offered Romo a one-day contract as a tribute to the Dallas sports' star before he leaves the football field for the CBS broadcasting booth in the fall.

For his day as a Maverick, Romo dressed out with the team for Tuesday’s game against the Denver Nuggets and participated in warm ups.

Romo was also given pre-game introduction along with the rest of the team.

At one point, Romo even tried to check into the game.

Even some of the Dallas Cowboys came to support their former quarterback.

The Mavericks lost to the Nuggets 109-91. Here’s what Romo thought about being an honorary member of the Mavericks.
