Columbia Fireflies manager Jose Leger announced former Heisman-winning quarterback Tim Tebow will start in left field for the Fireflies' Opening Day on Thursday, according to ESPN.

The fireflies will play the Augusta GreenJackets at 7:05 p.m. at Spirit Communications Park in Columbia.

"He's going to be playing," said Leger told ESPN.

If Georgia fans of Tebow don’t want to make the three hour drive for the Fireflies’ opener, tickets are available to see Tebow play against the GreenJackets at Augusta’s Lake Olmstead Stadium from April 13-16  and then on April 17-19 against the Rome Braves at State Mutual Stadium.
