Games at crosstown rival Georgia Tech and Mississippi State highlight Georgia State’s non-conference schedule, which was released Tuesday.

The Panthers face Tech on Dec. 21 at McCamish Pavilion. Georgia State won last year’s meeting 123-120 in four overtimes, a game that lasted more than three hours and didn’t end until after midnight. It was GSU’s first win over Georgia Tech since 1974.

Georgia State travels to Starkville, Miss., to play the Bulldogs on Dec. 14. The teams last meet in 2016, and Mississippi State leads the series 3-0.

The Panthers open the season Nov. 9 against Brewton-Parker and host Northeastern on Nov. 12 before competing in the Legends Classic on Nov. 20-21 in High Point, N.C., against High Point, Howard and William and Mary.

Additional non-conference home games are Dec. 1 against Tennessee State, Dec. 4 against Voorhees College and Dec. 18 against Toccoa Falls. Other non-conference games include trips to Richmond on Nov. 16, Rhode Island on Nov. 27 and Mercer on Dec. 4.

The Sun Belt Conference schedule begins with two games on the road, Dec. 30 at Arkansas State and Jan. 1 at Little Rock.

Georgia State went 16-6 a season ago and lost in the championship game of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
