The Dream announced Monday it had suspended guard Chennedy Carter indefinitely for “conduct detrimental to the team,” following Sunday’s loss in Las Vegas.

Carter played five minutes in the first quarter Sunday and did not return. It was the fewest number of minutes she’s played in a game this season.

Dream coach Mike Petersen told reporters after the game that Carter’s missed playing time was, “something we’re dealing with and that’s all I can say,”

Carter, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2020 draft, is averaging 14.2 points and 4.2 assists per game. She missed six games earlier in the year with a hyperextended elbow.

The Dream play two more games before the WNBA’s scheduled Olympic break.
