Morehouse (7-2, 6-2 SIAC) at Miles (3-7, 2-6)

When, where: 2 p.m. Saturday

Key matchup: Miles' passing attack vs. Morehouse's secondary. Miles likes to throw and has had enough success to rank in the league's top four in yardage. It's the only key category where they are in the top half statistically. And Morehouse, near the top in most categories, is ninth in pass defense.

Keep an eye on: Along those lines, keep an eye on Miles quarterback Carlton Hill. He racks up some yardage, but is prone to throwing interceptions, too.

Quick fact: Morehouse leads the league in turnover margin, with a plus-17.

Benedict (4-6, 3-5) at Clark Atlanta (4-5, 4-3 SIAC)

When, where: 2 p.m. Saturday

Key matchup: Benedict running back Renando Rose vs. Clark Atlanta's defensive line. Rose isn't a one-man gang, but he leads an offense that averages 202 yards rushing, easily the best in the conference. Clark gives up about 70 yards less than that per game. Whichever team comes closer to its average likely will win.

Keep an eye on: Clark Atlanta linebacker Harrison Porter often is the best player on the field. He has 66 tackles, including three sacks.

Quick fact: A win would give Clark a two-game improvement over last season.

West Georgia (3-5, 2-4) at Valdosta State (7-1, 5-1 Gulf South)

When, where: 2 p.m. Saturday

Key matchup: West Georgia's quarterbacks vs. Valdosta State defensive back Stevie Harden. Harden has seven interceptions, three returned for touchdowns, and has returned a fumble for a score.

Keep an eye on: The first quarter. Valdosta State is outscoring its opponents early while West Georgia gets off to mostly horrid starts. This one could be over quickly.

Quick fact: Saturday's game will be Valdosta State coach David Dean's 23rd as a coach in this series. His personal record is 20-2. Dean was 3-0 vs. West Georgia as Valdosta State assistant from 1989-91. After Dean moved to West Georgia in 1992, the Wolves were 7-1 against the Blazers with Dean on the staff. Since moving back to Valdosta State as an assistant in 2000, the Blazers are 9-1 against West Georgia. He is 3-0 as head coach.

Appalachian State (8-0, 6-0) at Georgia Southern (4-4, 2-3 Southern)

When, where: 2 p.m. Saturday

Key matchup: Appalachian State quarterback DeAndre Presley vs. Georgia Southern defensive back Laron Scott. Presley throws for more than 200 yards per game, and the Eagles have been suspect against the pass. But Scott has three interceptions. If he has a big game, Georgia Southern might have a chance.

Keep an eye on: Presley, the runner. When he's not passing, he hurts defenses by running. He averages 80 yards rushing per game and has scored 10 rushing touchdowns.

Quick fact: Brian Quick shares the lead in touchdown catches for Appalachian State with five.

Albany State (9-0, 8-0 SIAC) vs. Fort Valley State (8-1, 7-1)

When, where: 2 p.m. Saturday, Columbus

Key match-up: Albany State running back Robert Welton vs. Fort Valley State's rush defense. Fort Valley has stopped the run as well as any team this season. If Welton can take some of the pressure off quarterback Stanley Jennings and Albany State can control the clock, Fort Valley could be in trouble.

Keep an eye on: This one's full of stars. But Jennings is doing things that demand attention. His 217 yards per game passing is tops in the league. His pass efficiency is tops by a long shot, at 178.1, and his 21 passing touchdowns tower over the No. 2 guy in the league, who has 14.

Quick fact: Both teams rank either No. 1 or No. 2 in scoring offense and scoring defense.
