The Silverbacks have new owners, including two familiar faces.

Two Lawrenceville businessmen, Henry and John Hardin, have purchased a portion of Traffic Sports USA’s shares in the Silverbacks, ending that group’s 65-percent ownership stake in the NASL club.

In addition, Boris Jerkunica and John Latham, who owned the remaining 35 percent, have increased their stake.

In the new arrangement, Jerkunica and Latham will own 50 percent, and the Hardins will own 50 percent, according to Jerkunica.

Henry Hardin is founder and president of SCI Companies, which focuses on human resources outsourcing. John Hardin is an executive with the company. The Hardins own several companies and Henry is a soccer coach at Hebron Christian Academy.

The Silverbacks in November competed for the Soccer Bowl, the NASL’s championship, losing 1-0 to New York.

Following that loss, and the poor form in the Fall season (4-4-6), the team decided not to renew Brian Haynes’ contract after the season. So the Silverbacks are also looking for a new coach.
