Here are a few things to know on Tuesday:

1. Braves trade Garcia, Recker for Twins prospect

The Atlanta Braves traded veteran pitcher Jaime Garcia, catcher Antony Recker and a small amount of cash to the Minnesota Twins on Monday in exchange for 19-year-old pitching prospect Huascar Ynoa. Ynoa is a top-25 prospect in the Twins organization.

2. Braves lose to Diamondbacks, 10-2

Pitcher R.A. Dickey gave up four runs in less than four innings in the Atlanta Braves series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-2. The Braves only runs on Monday came from a two-run pinch-hit homer in the fifth from Sean Rodriguez. The Braves play the second game of the three-game series at Arizona on Tuesday at 9:40 p.m.

3. Georgia Tech sets preseason ACC schedule 

Georgia Tech men's basketball released the 12-game pre-ACC schedule on Monday. The Yellow Jackets will play four power-conference games, Georgia at home on Dec. 19 and will open against UCLA in Shanghai on Nov. 11. More on the AJC.com.

4. Thomas Dimitroff talks contract negotiations with Devonta Freeman

Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman is holding out for a big pay day in the midst of contract negotiations. D. Orlando Ledbetter reports Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff is optimistic the two parties will come to an agreement.

5. Julio Jones set to return from offseason surgery

Atlanta Falcons All-Pro receiver Julio Jones is recovering from offseason foot surgery, but is expected to participate in Falcons training camp this week. Jones will most likely be limited, D. Orlando Ledbetter reports.
