Did Venus Williams let slip the sex of Serena Williams’ baby?

In a TV interview following her second-round win Wednesday at the French Open, Venus talked about the excitement surrounding her sister’s first child.

“She’s going to call me ‘Favorite Aunt.’ ”

She? Did she say “she?”

Serena on Thursday tampered the excitement with a tweet, explaining the use of “she” in reference to her baby.

The Tweet in part reads:

"I think the surprise of knowing what you are going to have on that very special day you give birth is prob the best surprise you can ever have. So To clarify what Venus said, I am always joking with my sisters to see what favors I can get them do do for me next. If I want something from one of my sisters I say baby Venus baby Lyn, or Baby Isha needs it. I did not grow up with any brothers, only sisters and we all say 'she' more than 'he.' "

Serena, winner of 23 grand slam tennis tournaments, announced her pregnancy with Reddit co-founder and fiance Alexis Olhanian in April.

She is due in the fall and is taking the rest of this season off. She plans to return to professional tennis in 2018.

On Wednesday Serena sat with her coach in the stands during Venus’ second-round victory at Roland Garros.
