Time to hold myself accountable.
Last week, I took a deep dive into the teams in the MLS Eastern Conference, and provided my predictions on how the contenders will do in each of their remaining games.
So, each week I’ll tally each team’s results and see how many I predicted correctly, and how many I got wrong because the teams didn’t play them correctly.
Toronto
At Chicago. I predicted a loss. Toronto won 3-1.
The wheels have come off for Chicago, which has lost five of six.
-
NYCFC
Vs. New England. I predicted a win. NYCFC won 2-1.
-
Chicago
At Montreal. I predicted a loss. Chicago lost 3-0.
Vs. Toronto. I predicted a win. Chicago lost 3-1.
-
New York Red Bulls
At Portland. I predicted a loss. New York Red Bulls lost 2-0.
This wasn’t hard. Portland is now 7-2-4 at home.
-
Columbus
At Orlando. I predicted a draw. They drew 1-1.
Again, this wasn’t hard. Orlando City is fighting for its life. That, combined with the fact that it can’t score, and a draw seemed a natural conclusion.
-
Atlanta United
Off. I got that one right.
-
Montreal
Vs. Chicago. I predicted a win. Montreal won 3-0.
Vs. Real Salt Lake. I predicted a win. Montreal won 3-1.
The Impact have won four consecutive games. Like Columbus, I’ve been high on them all season. They are starting to put it all together.
-
Orlando City
Vs. Columbus. I predicted a draw. Orlando City drew 1-1. 5
-
Philadelphia
At San Jose. I predicted a loss. Philadelphia drew 2-2.
-
RESULTS
After one week, I accurately predicted five of the seven games.
