After one season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Paul George will become an unrestricted free agent.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday George informed Thunder officials that he will opt out of the final year of his contract before the 11:59 p.m. ET deadline Friday.

George has interest in returning to the Thunder next season, according to Wojnarowski, but the Lakers, 76ers and Rockets also are interested in acquiring the eight-year veteran.

George, who was traded to the Thunder last year from the Indiana Pacers, averaged 21.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists alongside former MVP Russell Westbrook.
