The New England Patriots are looking for a trading partner for wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell, according to a report Monday by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Mitchell, a former Georgia wide receiver was drafted by New England in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, started six games for the Patriots in 2016 and accounted for 401 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games.

Mitchell, who tore his ACL in his right knee in 2013, was sidelined all last season with another knee injury.

Listed as the Patriots second-string receiver behind Julian Edelman, Mitchell is still on the trade block even though Edelman will be serving a four-game suspension to start the season for violating the League’s performance-enhancing drug policy, Pelissero reported.

“The Patriots have been seeking a potential trade partner for (wide receiver) Malcolm Mitchell, per sources,” Pelissero tweeted. “Flashed talent with 32 catches in 2016 but injuries have been frustrating. May be odd man out in New England, even with Julian Edelman’s suspension.”

Pelissero also reported Mitchell underwent a procedure Monday on his knee.

“Adding to the Malcolm Mitchell story: he went to have a procedure on his knee today, per source,” Pelissero reported. “Knee problems kept Mitchell out all of last season. Explains the (Patriots) mounting frustration.”
