The top games to watch in world soccer this week:
Monday
3 p.m., Tottenham Hotspur vs. West Bromwich Albion, NBCSN: The Spurs and Harry Kane must win to keep alive its hopes of catching Leicester City atop the Premier League. They trail by eight with four games remaining. The Baggies can be a tough squad to break down defensively.
Tuesday
2:45 p.m., Manchester City vs. Real Madrid, Fox Soccer 2Go, ESPN Deportes: This should be a cracking game in the semifinals of Champions League. It will be interesting to see how City tries to deal with Real Madrid's power up the wings with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, especially considering that City's wingers are fast, but not nearly as physical. Madrid will also have to deal with it's back in the hunt for the La Liga title, which could affect its concentration.
Wednesday
2:45 p.m., Atletico Madrid vs. Bayern Munich, Fox Soccer 2Go: The other Champions League semifinal will be much more about tactics than talent, though there is plenty of that. Atletico's Diego Simeone may be the best in the world at setting up his teams for each opponent, while Bayern's Pep Guardioloa's bona fides come from figuring out how to incorporate talent into systems.
7 p.m., New York City vs. Montreal, MLS Live: Despite all of its money, New York City has sunk to the bottom of the Eastern Conference with just six points from seven games. Montreal is second in the East, despite losing last week to Toronto.
9:45 p.m., Club America vs. Tigres, Fox Sports 2, Univision Deportes: The second leg of the finals of the CONCACAF Champions League. America leads 2-0 after a physical, but dull game last week.
Thursday
3:05 p.m., Villarreal vs. Liverpool, Fox Soccer 2Go, ESPN Deportes: The first leg in this Europa League semifinals features a Liverpool team that was running rampant in the Premier League until coughing up a two-goal lead to Newcastle last week against a Villarreal squad that is in fourth in La Liga behind Spain's big three.
Friday
7 p.m., New York vs. Dallas, MLS Live: Dallas sits atop the Western Conference despite a defense that has allowed the third-most goals (13) in the league. They should get a reprieve in this one because the Red Bulls have scored just eight goals this season. This could be a reunion of Atlanta's Walker Zimmerman and Chris Duvall.
Saturday
10 a.m., Newcastle vs. Crystal Palace, NBC Sports Live Extra: This is a huge game in the ongoing relegation battle in the Premier League. Newcastle sit 19th of 20, but are two full points from safety. Crystal Palace defeated Watford in the FA Cup semifinals on Sunday, so they may be distracted
10 a.m., Real Sociedad vs. Real Madrid, beIN Sports Connect: It will be interesting to see how focused Madrid will be on this game considering it will be coming off its Champions League semifinal earlier this week. They are third in La Liga, just one point behind leaders Barcelona.
2:30 p.m., Real Betis vs. Barcelona, beIN Sports Connect: After stumbling through a few games Barcelona are awake again and destroying opponents with 14 goals scored in its last two games.
7 p.m., Fort Lauderdale vs. Tampa Bay, ESPN3: Atlanta United's Junior Burgos has seen his minutes cut in the past two games.
Sunday
9:05 a.m., Manchester United vs. Leicester City: If Spurs lose today, Leicester can clinch the Premier League with a win at Old Trafford, completing one of the most remarkable stories in sport's history.
8 p.m., Sporting KC vs. L.A. Galaxy, MLS Live: The Galaxy have figured out its midfield puzzle and lead the league with 17 goals scored. Sporting KC have one of the better defenses in the league.
